Keeping Up With Teenage Fashion Trends

There are some things to keep in mind when it comes to teenage fashion trends. To look great, fit in and keep a reputation of being classy you must be able to separate teenage fashion trends from some funky look that appears in a magazine or runway but no one should actually be wearing in public.

One of the best rules to follow is that you do not want to be the one to create the fashion trend. Once you establish what is trendy, and we will get into that later; you can go ahead and show the world how in fashion you are. However, it is always a good decision to not be the one to see something on an album cover or magazine and be the one who thinks you can get that going as part of teenage fashion trends. Now, of course, someone has to be the first person at school to get a look going and trendy; but try to not let it be you.
There are two ways to find out what are teenage fashion trends. The first is to look around you. Now, you do want to be aware that you do not necessarily want to follow a trend that a few people in school are following if they are the ones that get pointed at, mouth gap open when they walk by and whispers happen each time they come into a room. The point of being fashionable is to get good attention; not to get attention because your outfit is shocking. The best trends will be ones that are flattering, show good taste, look cute and do not give a reflection of you that does not represent you. You want to walk into a room and be noticed for your great taste in clothing; not for looking like the class clown.
Look at the students in school to see if you can find some common themes in what they are wearing. Does it seem as if everyone is wearing tight jeans? Do you not feel comfortable in them? If so, a bit of creativity goes a long way. You can wear tight jeans by buying a pair that is in your size. Stretch jeans will allow you to not worry about them ripping open. Then, you can finish the look with a longer blouse or sweater that covers a bit. The worst mistake that you can make is to want to copy people who where smaller sizes than you by trying to squeeze into those sizes. You should buy pants, slacks, jeans, skirts, dresses, and tops in a size that fits you. People who squeeze into smaller sizes do not look smaller; they simply look as if they squeezed into a size that was too small for them. Wearing your true size will allow clothes to flow nicely on you and you will look so much better.
Teenage fashion trends are also very apparent at the mall. Every year there will be a color that is the "in" color. How can you know? Well, you can take a good look around the mall. There should always be one certain color that is more prevalent than others. Take it and work it! But do keep in mind that the color of the year should never be worn head to toe. Bring the color in with a sweater, or wear the color for your jewelry
